In our previous newsletter, we talked about how Metal element Day Masters will fare in the Year of the Earth Ox. This time, we continue our series with a look at how people with Water Day Masters will do in 2009. (To find out what's your Day Mastery, you can plot your BaZi chart for free here).
In BaZi, the individual Day Masters are also known as the Ten Heavenly Stems. These basically comprise the Yin and Yang polarities of the Five Elements (Metal, Water, Fire, Wood, and Earth). In your BaZi chart, under the pillar titled 'Day', there are two sets of characters. The character on top - the 'Heavenly Stem' - indicates your Day Master. Your Day Master indicates your basic characteristics, personality traits, and general temperament.
For Water, the Influence Element is Earth. As this is the year of the Earth Ox, Water Day Masters will be undergoing an Influence Year. The Influence elements is one of five elemental factors that can interact with your Day Master (the others being Wealth, Output, Resource, and Companion) to represent different aspects of your life. The influence Elements broadly refers to power, status, and aothority, as well as charisma and nobility. The Influence element essentially exerts a countering power or control over your Day Master element. Think of it less as dominant control and more as guidance and supervision - like how to a parent would guide a child.
Some points to bear in mind for Water Day Masters this year with regards to the Influence Element:
The Influence element can also represent your boss or superior at work, and you're likely to face some trouble regarding issues of power, authority, and subordination.
There might also be the possibility of a job change or a change of superiors. A good outcome for this will depend on whether the Earth element is favourable in your BaZi chart.
Females, particularly those of the Yang Water (Ren Water) Day Master, will face quite a bit of emotional troubles concerning relationships throughtout the year. In BaZi, the Influence Element also represent the spouse or romatic partner for females.
To overcome the disturbance and confusion that could arise as a result of this, here are some issues you should bear in mind:
Do Not rush into decisions, or act rashly and in haste. Don't allow your emotions to blind you and assume that things are exactly as they appear! Make your important decisions based on reasoning and throught this year.
Yin Water (Gui Water) Day Master people will do well as long as you stay ahead of others, whether it's one step ahead or head and shoulders above the test! This is because Yin Water (Gui Water) is represented by the water that is contained in mist and clouds. A such, Gui can only be contaminated if it falls to the ground as rain and mingles with the earth.
Travelling and breaking out of your comfort zone by trying new things will benifit the Yin Water person favourably this year.
The study of BaZi yields a treasure trove of information and insight into your personality. It is practical and useful because you can apply it to minimise hardships and maximise opportunities, according to your own potential and life capacity! In life, it's the journey towards your destination that counts more than the destination itself. Whether you choose the hard, bumpy road full of potholes or the smooth, 6-lane highway is all up to you!
