You are a shy guy, but if only to please your friends, you attend a gathering, only to be introduced to a lady whom you surprisingly find yourself comfortable and even happy with. At the end of the evening, you wonder to yourself: Is she the one for me?
Or perhaps, you have worked hard all your life and today, you are the proud owner of a successful business. Now, you arethinking of venturing abroad, and wonder: Should I take on a strategic partner, and if so, will this really work to my benefit and advantage?

Dna… Only For Biologists?
Every human being is born with a unique DNA code. Our DNA contains information that pertains to our very existence; our characteristics, traits, capabilities etc. It determines our height, our IQ levels, our capacity to excel in certain fields and generally, what makes us tick. Of course, common sense would dictate that someone who lacks the height would find it extremely difficult - if not downright impossible - to be a professional basketball player. This is because it has all been mapped-out for us, right from birth. Not everyone may have Tom Cruise or Nicole Kidman’s looks and acting talents, but surely we too have our own specialties, don’t we?
Yes, admittedly, looks, IQ and even EQ levels are pre-set from birth. Nevertheless, with the advent of plastic surgery and ‘self-help’ programs, we know that few things cannot be altered - or improved on - today. And while not everyone can play football like Ronaldo or David Beckham, surely we are empowered to do something to improve our lot in life, even if that doesn’t mean that we all end up filthy rich or supremely popular at the end of the day!

Have you ever considered that just like DNA, our Destiny has been laid out for us right from the moment we entered this world? What if you came to the realization that your Destiny could actually be charted (and by that, we mean properly mapped-out on a piece of paper), and all you have to do, is simply decipher and decode it?

Bazi - The Four Pillars Of Destiny
The Chinese spent more than 3 millennia pondering upon life, the universe and the role Man played in this elaborate theater. Unsurprisingly, this led them to question the very purpose of our existence. One question led to another, and they soon immersed themselves studying the correlation between humankind and what life particularly holds in store for each human being.
Their efforts culminated in the understanding and discovery that there is indeed an omnipresent and omnipotent force called Qi that interacts with and influences the life of every person on this planet. Furthermore, they also realized that at our time of birth, Qi manifests itself in different ways, with far-reaching outcomes that permeate virtually every aspect of our lives.
Centuries of research were finally documented and organized into a systematic manner of presentation, to facilitate interpretation purposes. This ramification of Chinese Astrology is known as BaZi, which literally means ‘Eight Characters’. There are Five Techniques that are now recognized as the Five Arts (Wu Shu) 五術 of Chinese Metaphysics today; i.e. Destiny Studies (Ming Xue) 命學, The Science of Divination (Bu Shi) 卜筮, The Study of Physiognomy (Xiang Xue) 相學, The Study of Medicine (Yi Xue) 醫學 and The Study of Alchemy (Shan or Xiang Xue) 山／相學. BaZi and Purple Star (Zi Wei) 紫微 Astrology fall under the category of Destiny Studies.
Put simply, BaZi recognizes that certain Qi represented by the five elements (i.e. Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal & Water) are present during the year, month, day and even hour of your birth. Now, these Qi actively interact with and influence whatever life has in store for you - your Career, Wealth, Relationship and Health prospects, and even your personality and character!
By being able to identify and plot these Qi in black-and-white accordingly, we would be able to derive a physical layout of our life’s virtual map. Now, all we need to do is understand the interaction between these Qi, before we can really decipher their impact on our lives.
In other words, BaZi is a study of your Destiny - a tool that allows you to analyze and learn what Destiny has in store for you. |

Wouldn’t you like to know when the next business opportunity is going to come your way, or when you should avoid going on a particular trip (unless you wish to spend 36 hours in the transit lounge, no thanks to circumstances)? What We Offer You
The Chinese have ingeniously devised BaZi as a compact, direct system that groups the five elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water as the basic Qi components that influence all things in the universe - including our lives and destinies. Mind you; far from being chaotic, Qi remains true to the Yin and Yang concept, by constantly interacting with one another according to Productive, Controlling and Weakening Cycles.

What is BaZi?
- Jia Zi (60 Day Pillars) and the Eight Pillars
- The Cosmic Trinity: Heaven Luck, Earth Luck and Man Luck
- The concept of Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, Qi, Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches
- Classical vis-à-vis Modern BaZi
The ancient Chinese, through their observations of the Heavens and natural phenomena, wisely concluded that the interaction between Heaven, Earth and Man determines the multi-faceted outcomes of a person's Destiny. And just as the future is always in motion, the Qi forces of Yin and Yang are dynamic and constantly change in accordance with the passing of time.
Of course, knowing your BaZi would first require you to plot your own BaZi chart, and this can only be done with the knowledge of your Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches. Ask yourself this question: Do I really know myself? Your Heavenly Stems represent your extrinsic or visible qualities and characteristics - the perceptions that other people may invariably have of you. It is in your Heavenly Stems that your Day Master is found, and there is a whole world of difference between a Ren Water Day Master, and a Ding Fire Day Master! One is creative yet impatient, while the other is a beacon of light to those in times of despair. Yet, a person's Earthly Branches are equally, if not more important. Still waters run deep, and while we think we know someone well, his or her intrinsic attributes are certainly not apparent for all to see (unless, of course, you are also trained at Mian Xiang or Face Reading!).
To gain a firm grasp of BaZi is to understand the tenets of both the classical and modernized approaches. Are you aware that despite their venerated histories, some of the basics found in the classics have been debunked and disproved? BaZi, just like science, is an evolving and advancing study of Destiny. Don't worry; your instructor shall be sharing with you the crux of the classics, and explaining the relevance (or lack thereof) of each principle during your course.

• How is BaZi applied?
- Get a firm understanding on Combinations, Clashes, Harms, Destruction, Punishments and Relationships
- Learn about the relationships between the Five Elements and Ten Gods
Would you be surprised if you were told that a BaZi chart is only what it is - a chart; no more, no less, until and unless the relationships between the elements are first understood? The Qi elements in your chart do Combine, Clash and even Destroy each other. These dynamic interactions can lead to Harms and Punishments, but here’s a word of advice (and comfort): Do not let the very mention of these nouns scare or deter you from learning more about your Destiny. These are simply names assigned by the ancients, to facilitate their identification and research purposes.
Likewise, just because the word ‘God’ is present in the term ‘Ten Gods’, it does not mean that it is necessarily all benevolent and good. The Ten Gods refer to the outcome between the Productive, Controlling and Weakening Cycles that govern the interaction and influence between the Five Elements. Any of these Ten Gods could well turn out to be your Useful God - and that’s a valuable hint by itself! For instance, Wood produces Fire, but a strong Fire is capable of weakening Wood, isn’t it? What does this all mean? Does this mean that I’m simply incompatible with certain types of people or jobs? How would I know which of the Ten Gods is my Useful God?
The outcomes of these interactions and relationships determine the significance or impact of a particular event in the aspects of your life - be it your Relationships, Wealth, Health or Career. Keep an open mind, and you will find your course immensely enjoyable and entertaining even!

- Learn how to analyze BaZi charts, and make accurate predictions and readings
- Practice your skills through real-life case studies
Why is it that you and your friend are both Jia Wood Day Masters, yet your Destinies differ greatly? If you are capable of asking this question by the end of Module 1 and understanding the attributes of the Ten Gods, you are on the right track to mastering BaZi. Remember though, the study of BaZi is to enable people to make informed decisions; not create wealth.
Now comes practice time, where you will be presented with real-life case studies, and learn to analyze the BaZi charts in deriving predictions and readings! By the end of Module 1, you should at least be able to tell a person’s external attributes and personality, just by looking at this person’s Day Master. You should also be able to identify which elements are considered ‘desirable’ and ‘undesirable’ to this person, by merely identifying the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches of this person’s BaZi chart. In addition, you will also get to plot the 10-Year Luck Pillars, which outline a person’s Destiny from the beginning until the end. These Luck Pillars are a map of what life may potentially present us with, over different periods in time.
Don’t worry, you will be guided by your instructor, but do not expect him or her to reveal everything to you there and then. Practice complements theory, and we daresay that you will find this the most challenging and entertaining part of your course!
